  Quality Promise

ABET is proud of its achievements in educational quality assurance through program accreditation in the professional disciplines of applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. In keeping with the philosophy of continuous improvement, ABET has adopted the following Quality Promise:

ABET will provide its services to its customers with the highest level of quality. That quality will be the result of ABET’s commitment to these principles.

Customer Service: Each and every customer deserves our best effort. ABET staff and volunteers are expected to provide customers with courteous, compassionate service at all times. There is zero tolerance for poor customer service.

Ethics: ABET staff and volunteers will perform their work with the highest professional ethical standards, avoiding conflicts of interest and striving to improve the ABET professions through good works and professional responsibility.

Value: ABET will provide products and services that are inherently useful to its constituencies and will gauge their usefulness through direct feedback. ABET evaluation teams will strive to provide a valuable exchange of information for the continual improvement of educational programs and engage in meaningful and practical application of its accreditation practices.

Respect: All products and services delivered by ABET will be developed and implemented by respecting constituents’ needs and attempting to satisfy those needs. ABET will be inclusive in conducting its activities and will take into account all the varied perspectives and considerations of its diverse constituencies. ABET will conduct accreditation activities with minimal interruptions to a program’s normal operations and without undue burden on a program’s and institution’s administration.

Accountability: ABET will maintain a formal means for students, parents, educators, employers, governmental agencies, and the public to report inconsistencies, real or perceived, between ABET practices and this Quality Promise, and ensure that such reports are addressed by the ABET leadership.
